Programme/Course timetables for Trimester One 2021/2022 ONLY are now available.
Trimester two & three timetables will be available W/C 18th January
In response to the pandemic and the plans for lifting restrictions; with your safety and experience of student life at the forefront, by not building the full year timetable under current guidance we have created an opportunity for the timetables to be appropriately adapted at a time closer to the start of teaching, including more on campus learning and with fewer expected changes.
Only just registered? It can take up to 72 working hours for your record to update to enable you to access a personal timetable via log on. In the meantime; you can view a programme / course timetable by following the guidance below.
To find out how to access your teaching timetable and your group information see Your Timetable Guidance.
What is a Programme Timetable?
A programme/course timetable, unlike a personal timetable - will show all the teaching scheduled for that course/programme, showing all the groups for each module. Details on how to access your programme timetable are listed below.
If you are unsure how to view your group information when it’s available - please see Your Timetable Guidance.
Viewing your Programme/Course Timetable
1. You do not need to ‘log on’ to view your programme timetable
2. You can view your timetable by heading to the ‘Prog Timetables’ tab, and selecting either of the below options:
- Calendar View: This shows a weekly breakdown of all the events on your programme - we recommend using this view for the majority of courses, as you may be in University at different times or in different rooms each week (Please note: Calendar View will default to the current week when you first visit the site)
- Semester View: This will allow you to see a full trimester overview of all the teaching on your course
Your timetable could be different each week of the trimester, be sure to check each week and know where you’re going before you arrive on campus. As events can start every 15 minutes, be sure to click on your timetabled sessions in the calendar to see the start time.
The Academic Year Calendar
You can view the Academic Year Calendar here, this will show you a breakdown of when the Trimesters begin and end, as well as when each break is.
Accessing your individual group information
In many cases your group information is prepared by your school teaching teams and will be accessed via Blackboard.

What is different with timetables this academic year?
To ensure your safety during the ongoing pandemic – we have worked non-stop with your academics, technical staff, and other teams throughout the institution to create timetables that maximise your on-campus learning and provide you as ‘normal’ a Salford experience as possible under the current circumstances.
With this in mind, most courses will have seen some form of adaptation from previous years, and we would like to draw your attention to the following aspects of your timetable:
Timester timetables will be released in stages - Where we would have usually prepared a full academic year timetable at the start of the year; this year the timetables are being built in semester order and will be released as such over the course of the year.
Online delivery - On your timetable, you might see some sessions that indicate they are ‘Online Delivery’ – these need to be attended virtually and will be available for you to log into at the scheduled time on your timetable. For further details as to what these sessions will be like for your course and how to access them, please check Blackboard.
You may also have pre-recorded content/lectures that you can view virtually at any time after they are released on Blackboard – these are also part of your studies, and you may be required to view these prior to your timetabled sessions taking place each week.
Start times - Teaching no longer starts on the hour in all cases, be sure to click on your timetabled sessions in the calendar to see the start time.
Week patterns - Your timetable could be different each week, and checking your timetable frequently will ensure you are familiar with what you will be studying and when. You can move between weeks using the arrows in the top left or by selecting a week number in the drop-down.
In many cases, changes to timetables are unavoidable – so please check your timetable closer to the start of teaching for the most up to date version. During teaching, your School will advise on any timetabling changes that are made.
